Welcome. We're glad you're here.
Looking for work can be exhausting in ways that are hard to explain to someone who hasn't been through it. Applications disappear without a word. Follow-ups pile up. You try to keep track of every conversation, every opportunity, every small sign that your effort might be paying off. Sometimes you wonder whether anyone sees how hard you're trying.
Ungated started with a simple idea: people looking for work deserve better tools, more control over their own information, and a little less weight to carry.
We built it for the people doing their best in difficult circumstances. For the person sending applications after another long day. For the job seeker trying to make unemployment paperwork add up. For the coach trying to help someone find their footing. For the friend who wants to help but doesn't know what to ask.
We want to make the work visible. Give you one place to organize your search, remember the people you've spoken with, follow up when it matters, and see the progress that can be so easy to lose sight of. And when you need help, we want it to be easier to bring someone you trust alongside you.
We also believe that your career data belongs to you. That's why every feature is available on the free board, paid passes never auto-renew, and you can download or delete your data whenever you choose. We don't want to profit from holding your data hostage.
We're a small team, and this is personal to us. We're building Ungated because we believe practical tools, honest support, and a little more visibility can make a hard stretch of life more manageable.
We won't promise that an app can fix a broken job market, but we can promise that we're trying to build something useful, and that we'll listen when you tell us how to do better.
And when you land that job? You won't need us anymore, and that'll be the best outcome we could ask for.
Until then, we're pulling for you.
The Ungated team
