Without it
- Every session starts with "so, where are we?"
- Spreadsheets in a different shape for every client, out of date by Friday
- No way to tell who's quietly stopped applying until it's been weeks
- Follow-ups forgotten, so applications go cold
Ungated is a job search tracker your clients keep for themselves and share with you. You get one page with everyone on it: who's applying, who's stalled, which follow-ups are due and what's coming up. Your sessions can go to strategy instead of catching up.
It's free for coaches. No card, no subscription, no seat license.
Most coaches piece a client's search together from screenshots, shared spreadsheets and "how's it going?" emails. Ungated keeps it in one place that updates itself.
Your clients stay in charge of their own boards. You see what they choose to share.
Sign up with your email or Google and choose Helping someone with theirs. You get the coach page. There's nothing to install.
Each client starts their own free board and clicks Invite. They choose whether you can view it, or edit it so you can add jobs for them.
Each client who shares with you shows up on your coach page and stays current as they work, on their laptop or their phone.
The coach page is built for a full roster, whether that's three clients or thirty.
Every client who shares with you, with where their search stands: how many applications are open, how many are interviewing and who has gone quiet.
Your clients' next actions on a day strip, and the follow-ups coming due or overdue, so you know who to nudge and when.
A chart of each client's applications, follow-ups, interviews and other activities by week or by day. You'll see a slowdown while there's still time to do something about it.
Each card shows how far it went and when: phone screen, technical, onsite, final round. That makes interview prep easy to plan.
Job fairs, workshops, networking and résumé updates show in an Other activities panel, covering the last four weeks. That's useful if your clients are on unemployment and have to log their search for the state.
On a board you can edit, + Add a job takes a few fields (company, role, link, contact and why you picked it). It lands in your client's Prospects with your note, and they're told the next time they open their board.
A board they'll actually keep up, because it helps them as much as it helps you. Every feature is on the free board.
Applications come due for a follow-up after 14 days, and cards turn amber, then red. One click records that they followed up.
Targets for applications, follow-ups and other activities, with rings that fill as the week goes and milestones along the way.
A work search record that follows their state's rules (ten states built in, any other set by hand), printable by benefit week.
Their search as a chart to share: applications, interviews, the companies that ghosted them. Counts only, never names.
It runs in the browser on their laptop and their phone, and syncs when they're back online. Nothing to install.
It's their board, not yours. They keep it after you finish working together, and they can download all of it any time.
Free to start, and nothing that renews by itself.
A coach account costs nothing, however many clients share with you. A client's board is free for its first 30 cards, with every feature. After that, a pass they buy once lifts the limit for a month or three. No auto-renew, no card on file.
Buy board-months in a block, at a coach's price, and give them to the clients you choose. A board-month is one client covered for 30 days, so a block can cover one client for a year or a dozen for a month.
Give days straight onto a board a client shares with you, or hand a new client a gift code before they've even signed up.
One payer per board per day. If your client pays, you ride free. If you pay, they do. New days queue after the days already covered, so they never overlap.
When a client lands a job early, Take back the days you put on their board that they haven't used, and they go back to your bank for your next client. If a client stops sharing with you, those days come back by themselves.
Coaching works when clients are open with you. Ungated keeps the board theirs, so sharing it is easy.
Clients choose to share, choose whether you can view or edit, and can take your access back whenever they like. You can't see a board nobody shared with you, and you can't add yourself to one.
No ads, no tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share anyone's data. If a client deletes a card, you see only the company, the role and when it went. The privacy policy says exactly what we keep and who sees it.
Anyone who helps people find work and wants to see how it's going.
Running a program? Partner organizations get a code that gives their members free days. A school can instead give them to everyone who signs up with its email address, and see how its students are doing, all together. A company or an outplacement firm sees the same for the people who used its codes. Contact us for a demo.
No. Sharing works on a free board. A pass only matters once a board passes 30 cards, and you can cover that yourself if you like.
Send them to the site and ask them to share their board with you. Access is always the client's to give. If you want to cover them from the start, make a gift code on your passes page and send them the link: the days become theirs when they sign up.
Only if they share their board with you as an editor. Then you can add jobs for them from the coach page. With view access you see everything they share and change nothing.
Their board stays theirs. If you covered them, take back the days they haven't used from your passes page, for your next client. If they paid, they can bank theirs for later.
Yes. Your coach page can start a board of your own whenever you want one, and it works like any job seeker's.
